The Relay began in 1985, when Dr. Gordy Klatt decided to do a 24-hour marathon around a track in Tacoma, Washington. This started a global movement of uniting communities to fight back against cancer. For 40 years supporters have come together to advance the American Cancer Society's vision: ending cancer as we know it, for everyone. The Penn National Relay team is calling all survivors, caregivers, friends and neighbors to join this year's Relay on May 16. All survivors and caregivers receive a free catered meal. Remember to bring a Teddy Bear what will provide comfort for cancer patients. So get out those walking shoes and hit the track.
